When the sun sets in the seaby *Sanguine-Sun

Oil painting on canvas. Excuse my bad phtographer skills, quite new with a camera ..!

In greek mythology the sun god Helios transports the sun over the sky, from dusk to dawn. Here it sets in the sea.

This painting was a gift for my brother. I painted it quite a few years ago. One of my older paintings. But I still think its quite good! The sea is layer over layer over layer over.. and I used many different techniques painting this.

That's amazing! I love the texture of the waves and the sense of power and strength conveyed. I think you made a good choice with the colours of your horse and Helios - they stand out from the waves. However, I think Helios needs to be defined a bit more, with darker sharper shadows. His armour blends into his skin and the chariots blend into the horses.
